Compliance Disclaimer
Freighthouse is a record-keeping and evidence tool. It helps you capture and produce compliance activity. It does not make you compliant on its own, and it does not give legal advice.
It is not legal advice
Nothing in the Service or on our website is legal advice or a statement that you meet your obligations. How the law applies to you depends on your operation. For advice on your own obligations, speak to your legal adviser or the regulator.
It is not an approved electronic work diary
Under the Heavy Vehicle National Law, a fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle driver must keep the written National Driver Work Diary, or an electronic work diary approved by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR). Freighthouse records work and non-work time as a business record and as supporting evidence. It does not replace a work diary, and we do not hold that approval.
The law is not the same everywhere
Heavy vehicle law is the Heavy Vehicle National Law, administered by the NHVR, in most of Australia. Western Australia and the Northern Territory sit outside it and run their own heavy vehicle rules. You are set up for the state you tell us you operate in; if you cross borders, check the rules that apply.
You remain responsible
You are responsible for doing the checks, for the accuracy of what is recorded, and for meeting your duties under the law. The Service is a tool to help you do and prove that, not a substitute for doing it.
Regulator
For the current law and guidance, refer to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, or Main Roads in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
